about

Instrumentation: soprano, percussion, live electronics and electroacoustic sound.

Performed by Kristin Norderval (soprano) Amund Sveen (percussion) and Natasha Barrett (computer).

Mixing and mastering Natasha Barrett.

Composed in 1999. Originally released on the Euridice label in 2004 (out of print). This new release is remixed and remastered.

Programme notes:

Diabolus expresses periods of diabolical havoc that often go unexplained and fall into the realm of superstition and hearsay. The work is inspired by two sources: the work of the Russian author Mikhail Bulgakov, which is a collection of fiction combining satire, irony, and humour, and the facts and mysteries of dynamic solar activity.
